The Cottage

This charming one bedroom cottage has been designed to ensure your every comfort. Renovated in 2018, the Cottage has been stylishly presented throughout, including solid oak doors and furniture. With features including a fully equipped kitchen, spacious living accommodation, large bedroom and beautiful gardens, it is the perfect setting for a week's holiday or romantic short break. Providing everything you need for your stay, the cottage has been decorated using a mix of warm and vibrant colours throughout, creating a warm, peaceful space where you can relax and unwind. 


The surroundings of the cottage are a wonderful feature, with beautiful far reaching views to Dartmoor and beyond, with sheep grazing in the fields opposite the Cottage garden completing the scene. French windows lead out from the sitting room on to a sunny patio, which is perfect for al fresco dining or an evening barbecue. 

Accommodation in Detail

Ground Floor

The ground floor comprises a bright fully equipped kitchen with serving hatch through to the sitting room and dining area. Features include all electric appliances, including dishwasher, microwave, espresso machine and Lavazza milk frother.
The kitchen leads to a separate sitting room featuring an electric woodburner. This light, airy and sunny room is the perfect space for you relax, with a comfy sofa creating a pleasant seating area, perfect for an evening in front of the fire.  A charming reading alcove, including a selection of books, is ideally positioned to enjoy views over the garden through the French windows, which lead to the patio.

Upstairs

The bedroom has been designed and decorated to create a warm and comfortable space, featuring a beautiful wooden Super King size bed with luxurious memory foam mattress, which will help ensure you get a great night’s sleep. 
The bedroom has wonderful far reaching views towards Dartmoor, providing a great opportunity to watch the sunrise if you wake early. 
Enjoy a relaxing shower or bath in our beautifully presented, well-equipped bathroom. The natural stone and glass mosaic tiles are matched with large Spanish Marcello tiles and complimented by the warm sage green walls. The lighted mirror also features a bluetooth speaker.

Patio & Gardens

French Windows lead out from the sitting room on to a large patio, with dining table and chairs. This area is in full sun throughout the day and is a great place to enjoy al fresco dining, whether breakfast, lunch or dinner. An awning is available for a little shade on the hottest of days in the sun!
Opposite the patio is a private garden, where you can enjoy the sunshine from morning till sunset.
Dartmoor View is a shared seating area, with sun loungers providing shade on a hot afternoon. Also great for a sunny morning breakfast.
The patio is also a perfect area for a yoga or meditation practice, as is Dartmoor View, both of which attract the early morning sun.

  • Short breaks are available from October till the end of March - prices vary according to the number of nights and other seasonal factors.

    "The Cottage is very well appointed and comfortable with all modern amenities. Location is rural and quiet but only a mile or two from the A30 Oakhampton/Launceston Road. It would be an excellent central location to explore North or South coast or Dartmoor. So we went down South as far as Tavistock and up to Bude in the North. The countryside is pretty with rolling hills and single track roads and lovely little villages. Location is adjoining the main house but feels very private and has great views over the countryside. Ideal for couples who like exploring in the car." Paul

The cottage is a few minutes drive from the main road and is very quite and peaceful, perfect for a relaxing vacation. We could only stay one day in the cottage during the sunset time (due to busy schedule we planned for Cornwall), but I highly recommend sitting outside to enjoy the view of beautiful Cornwall sunset! The cottage itself is well maintained with great amenities and decor. Georgina and her husband are very kind and they also let us borrow few blankets ahead of the play at Minack theater.
