Dartmoor is a fantastic place to start if you would like to venture into the great outdoors. This beautiful, wild and often remote landscape has a great selection of walks for you to choose from. The ancient Dartmoor village of Belstone is on the Dartmoor National Park and is a popular walker's destination, with numerous walks from the village; either onto the moors or along the River Taw towards Sticklepath. It also has the benefit of a fabulous dog friendly pub, The Tors, which seems to be a magnet to walking boots!
Bren Tor, although not technically on Dartmoor itself, can be seen from Higher Kellacott and is only a short drive. This very popular landmark is a short but exhilerating walk, with fabulous views to the sea on a clear day and a fascinating story from times gone by.
