The Old Barn dates back to the 18th century and was last used over 50 years ago for housing cattle and as a granary/feedstore. It was renovated from 2021 till 2023, providing a beautiful upstairs open plan living space, with seating area and kitchen dining area. The vaulted ceiling recreates the original barn roof structure, featuring replicas of the old scissor beams, which provide a wonderful feeling of space where guests can relax and unwind, perhaps listening to music with the Bose speaker or enjoying an evening supper after a day's exploring on Dartmoor.
Providing everything you need for your stay, the barn has central heating with underfloor heating throughout the ground floor. A large bedroom, located on the ground floor, features a stunning vaulted ceiling with oak beams, exposed stone wall and tiled floor with underfloor heating.
The elevated position of The Old Barn means the wonderful views to Dartmoor and beyond, with a glimpse of the well known 'Nearly Home' trees, can be seen from the living space and upper deck, which also provides a front row seat at sunset.
"What a wonderful, quiet getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Georgina & David were wonderful hosts. Our dog Freya absolutely loved watching the sheep and Misty out of the window. Your fresh produce was a delight for breakfast and your recommendations of The Tors at Belstone was a fab pub lunch. The Old Barn is beautiful, we're so glad we found you. Thany you again for such a lovely stay!" Chrissy & Ben. Berkshire. February 2024.
