About Us

About Us

Higher Kellacott is a smallholding set in 3 acres of land, nestled in a beautiful stretch of Devon countryside. Our elevated situation gives us a sunny aspect from morning till dusk with far-reaching views to Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor in the west. We are in a recognised dark sky area, so experience wonderful starry night skies.

The Cottage is attached to the main house, a 17th century cob farmhouse. We have a young black Labrador, free range hens, sheep and lambs grazing in the fields, a family of Emden geese and also an apiary for our bees, which are situated away from the property in the top field.

Georgina Tomkins

I enjoy walking on Dartmoor, wild swimming, cycling and body boarding. When not on the moors or working on our home, garden and fields, I enjoy family life, playing table tennis, listening to music, going to the cinema, reading a good book, listening to the cricket and all things history. I also enjoy National Hunt horse racing. Cooking, home curing bacon and smoked salmon are also interests I pursue.
Renovating Higher Kellacott Cottage with my husband David over the last couple of years has been an eventful and enlightening journey. It is now a pleasure to let the Cottage and share our property with couples for use as holidays and short breaks.

I enjoy walking on Dartmoor, wild swimming, cycling and body boarding. When not on the moors or working on our home, garden and fields, I enjoy family life, playing table tennis, listening to music and pursuing several hobbies. I have always had a love of the natural world, wild animals in particular. I enjoy deer stalking and beekeeping, which I have been practicing for over 30 years.
Renovating The Old Barn, Higher Kellacott with my wife Georgina over the last couple of years has been a strenuous, eventful and enlightening journey. It is now a pleasure to let The Cottage and The Old Barn and share our property with couples for use as holidays and short breaks.
